WICHITA, KS – The accolades continue to roll in for Wichita Thunder forward Kyle Platzer.
The ECHL announced Wednesday that the Thunder forward, along with Michael Joly, Brady Shaw (Colorado) and Lindsay Sparks (Atlanta), were named the AMI Graphics Plus Performers of the Month for October.
Platzer finished the season-opening month with a plus-minus rating of +8. He was at least a +1 in all six of Wichita’s games during October, including a +3 on October 13 against Indy. He is tied for third in the ECHL with five goals and second in points (11). Additionally, he previously won the Sher-Wood Hockey ECHL Player of the Week for the week of October 16-22.
Joly, who is tied for the ECHL lead with six goals, posted an even or better rating in six of his seven games in October, including a +2 rating on October 13 against Utah, October 21 against Norfolk and October 25 against Worcester.
Shaw, who is tied for second among ECHL rookies with four goals and eight points, was even or better in each of his six games during the month and posted a +2 rating on October 20 against Norfolk and October 25 against Worcester.
Sparks is tied for third in the league with seven assists and posted an even or better rating in six of Atlanta’s seven October games, including a +3 on October 26 at Jacksonville.
Each player will receive a banner from AMI Graphics to recognize the accomplishment during an on-ice ceremony at an upcoming home game.
