The Wichita Thunder have dismissed assistant coach Jason Duda.

The story was first reported by Jeff Lutz of The Wichita Eagle.

A source close to the team confirms to The Sin Bin that RG Flath will move into the role of player-assistant coach for the coming season.

Duda as the team’s interim head coach after Brent Bilodeau was fired early in the 2009-10 season. Then, with the hire of Kevin McClelland as head coach, moved into the team’s assistant coach since completion of the 2009-10 season.

He holds every major offensive record in Thunder history, including games played (730), goals (337), assists (533), points (870), hat tricks (11), shootout goals (21), overtime goals (7), playoff games (66), playoff assists (47), and playoff points (72).  Duda also ranks second in team history in power play goals (101), shorthanded goals (22), and game-winning goals (42).
