WICHITA, KS – The Wichita Thunder and Rapid City Rush swapped scorers on Monday.
Heading to the Black Hills is Danick Gauthier, who was Wichita’s lone ECHL all-star representative in 2014. In 96 games with the Thunder, Gauthier collected 36 goals and 44 assists (80 points.)
“Danick is a player we have seen several times over the last two years and has always been a player we’ve had to key on and be aware of whenever he was on the ice,” said Rush Head Coach and GM, Joe Ferras. “He is a high-character kid that can play in all situations, has a great offensive instincts, makes good decisions with the puck, and is a very good ‘200-foot’ player. We’re very glad to have him in our lineup.”
Gauthier is expected to make his Rush debut Wednesday night.
Headed to Wichita is Kale Kerbashian. Last season, Kerbashian split time between the Rush and Evansville IceMen. In 65 games, Kerbashian tallied 63 points (22G, 41A). In nine Kelly Cup Playoff games, he also collected eight points (1G, 7A.)
So far this season, Kerbashian has 10 points in 17 games (3G, 7A.)
The Wichita Thunder return to action Friday night, when they play the Tulsa Oilers.
