WICHITA, KS – The Wichita Thunder kept their focus on the forward position with their latest signing announcement.
Coming back to Wichita for a second season is forward Gerrad Grant.
“Gerrad is a versatile player that can play multiple roles on our team,” stated Head Coach Malcolm Cameron. “He is a solid penalty killer and plays every game the same way. He can be counted on each and every night.”
The 27-year-old forward played in 67 games for the Thunder last season, scoring six goals and adding 14 assists (20 points). Before going pro, Grant played five years at St. Mary’s University in Canada. There, he was teammates with fellow Thunder teammates Jamie Doornbosch and Matt Tipoff. In 125 games, where he scored 36 goals and added 53 assists (89 points.)
“I’m very excited to be back in Wichita for a second year,” commented Grant. “With the newcomers and returning guys, I think this year will be a good one for the Thunder. I’m looking forward to getting things underway.”
The addition of Grant brings the number of announced player signings by the Thunder to 13, third most behind the South Carolina Stingrays who have announced 15 player signings, and Fort Wayne Komets who have announced 18 player signings.
