WICHITA, KS – The rebuild continues in Wichita. Friday, the team announced forward Kenton Miller has been traded to the Wheeling Nailers for future considerations.
Miller was one of four forwards given qualifying offers by head coach Malcolm Cameron on July 1. Last season was Miller’s second with the Thunder, where he collected 34 points (16G, 18A) and was a career-worst -22 in 65 games played. Miller was the lone Thunder player to get a call-up to the American Hockey League last season, skating in one game with the Ontario Reign in late October, but not getting on the scoresheet.
Miller has played in 248 games in the Central Hockey League, ECHL and American Hockey League in his professional career and will cross the ECHL-mandated 260 game “veteran” designation during the upcoming season. He has scored 69 goals, tallied 79 assists (148 points) and is a -29 over the course of his career.
Miller joins a team that already has some offensive firepower. Here is a look at the Nailers roster for next season:
FORWARDS – Josh Shalla, Darryl Lloyd, Garrett Meurs, Jordan Kwas, Cody Wydo, Kenton Miller
DEFENSEMEN – Brett Stern
GOALIES – None announced yet.
