ORIGINAL STORY:

MOLINE, ILTulsa Oilers head coach Rob Murray collapsed on the bench on Friday night while his team was playing the Quad City Mallards.

At 12:08 of the second period the Oilers were leading the Mallards 2-1 when the game suddenly stopped and attention turned toward the Oilers bench after Coach Murray was stricken. Murray was tended to briefly by EMT’s at the scene and then taken by ambulance to a local hospital. Players from both clubs gathered for a brief prayer before going to their dressing rooms, and the game was immediately postponed.

At last report from Oilers radio broadcaster, John Peterson is that Murray was “awake and communicating” while being transported.
