WICHITA, KS – Wichita Thunder head coach Malcolm Cameron is going back to last year’s team for the team’s latest signing.
The team announced Wednesday that Louick Marcotte has signed a contract for the coming season. Marcotte was the team’s offensive leader in goals (18), points (38) and was tied for second in assists (20 – Doornbosch) in 62 games. His finishing line last season were all career-highs.
“Last year was more of a learning year, but I am very happy to be back in Wichita,” stated Marcotte. “Our fans deserve a great year of hockey and I will do everything in my power to do so. I can’t wait to get things started.”
Prior to joining the Thunder before the start of last season, Marcotte played in 57 games with the Adirondack Thunder, scoring 16 goals and collecting 13 assists (29 points).
“Louick is a big body winger with a quick and accurate release,” commented Head Coach Malcolm Cameron. “I believe he has the capability of scoring 25-30 goals and he would have done so if he didn’t have to fight some nagging injuries last season. He can score a variety of ways and we look forward to him building on his numbers from last season.”
The re-signing of Marcotte brings the number of announced player signings by the Thunder to eight, second most behind the Fort Wayne Komets who have announced 14 player signings.
