ROCKFORD, ILL – The Chicago Wolves won their third game in four outings Tuesday night as they defeated the Rockford IceHogs 2-1 at BMO Harris Bank Center. Captain Paul Thompson led his team to victory as he scored with 0.8 seconds remaining in regulation to beat goaltender Jeff Glass.

Brandon Pirri opened the game’s scoring at 5:03 of the first, as he grabs the rebound from Teemu Pulkkinen’s shot off Glass and threw the puck into the empty net. Chicago’s 1-0 lead would hold for forty minutes including a scoreless second period.

Anthony Louis tied the game for Rockford at 7:32 of the third his shot off the faceoff beat goalie Maxime Lagace. Lagace did not stand a chance to make the save as there were too many bodies in front screening.

The two teams traded chances for the remainder of the period, but Lagace and Glass both made huge saves of their own to keep the game knotted at one.

Just when it looked as if the two teams would be needing extra time for the third time in four games, Thompson threw a buzzer-beater off Glass’ shoulder and into the net to seal the win for the Wolves with 0.8 seconds remaining.

Chicago’s power play woes continued in the victory as it failed to capitalize on three opportunities.

Lagace earned a win in his first game since returning to the Chicago Wolves from the Vegas Golden Knights, making 34 saves on 35 shots. Glass stopped 30 of 32 in the loss.

The Chicago Wolves travel to Grand Rapids Friday to take on the Griffins. Puck drop is scheduled for 6 p.m. As always, be sure to follow @SinBinWolves on Twitter for up-to-date news and game updates.
