WICHITA, Kan. – The Sin Bin is proud to announce a promotion for one of our writers. The Indy Fuel correspondent for TheSinBin.net, Mark Grainda, has been named the new Director of Media Relations for the club. Grainda will start in his new position on June 24, 2019.
“My time with The Sin Bin gave me the experience I needed when it came to covering a hockey team the right way. I learned how to ask the right questions in the post-game interview and how to develop my own writing style. The feedback and resources I received gave me the ability to attend games and get to know the Fuel organization on and off the ice,” Grainda said.
“”Whether it is more access to players and coaches or streaming games on The Sin Bin app, there are plenty of ways teams around the ECHL and The Sin Bin could work together in the future.”
During his time with The Sin Bin, Grainda helped with coverage of the 2018 ECHL All-Star Classic in Indianapolis and broke several big stories surrounding the Fuel franchise. Additionally, his “Gear Guru” segments helped keep fans updated on the latest changes in hockey gear and uniforms.
“We are extremely proud of Mark and thank the Fuel organization for taking a chance on him, we know he’ll do incredibly well in his new position,” said Matthew Harding, Editor-in-Chief of TheSinBin.net. “Mark is a talented writer and gifted with graphic design, but he’s an even better person. Mark showed tremendous leadership by mentoring his fellow writers behind the scenes and he was always there with a word of encouragement. We will miss having him on our team but take great pride in knowing that we’ve been able to play a significant role in the development of someone as talented as Mark.”
Replacing Mark as The Sin Bin’s Indy Fuel correspondent is Evan Miller, who previously wrote for the-rink.com.
“Evan is a talented writer and has learned a lot about sports media in a very short time,” Harding said. “We are excited to have him on our staff and continue to help him develop his voice. He will have a great mentor a few chairs away in Mark, and he’ll be surrounded by a team of writers and editors that is committed to being the best each and every day.”
