Today marks a new chapter for our website.

For the first time in six years, The Sin Bin will be without our founder, Joe Rozycki, who has moved on with former Team Sin Bin members Adam Twenter and Ryan Gibson, to start a new endeavor with the Kansas City Mavericks.

Our original vision was to make The Sin Bin a place that had the inside scoop on the news across minor league hockey, give fans the chance to talk a little smack to other fanbases, and provide you with some fresh opinions you wouldn’t find anywhere else. In the three-plus years of this site, we have dabbled in each of those areas, but there is still more work to do in completing our original mission.

Behind the scenes, we will miss Joe’s steadfast leadership and ability to look at the headwinds facing our site through a prism nobody could. The Sin Bin’s success is because of you, Joe, and we hope this next chapter makes you proud.

Our site remains a work in progress, but we expect to make this new chapter of The Sin Bin the best yet. We will strive daily to live up to the “quality over quantity” mantra, while bringing you the news of the day, along with a fresh take on what’s going on in the world of minor league hockey.

The road to fulfilling our vision will not be easy. There is no roadmap to success, and it will take a lot of hard work, but I am as confident as ever we have the best team to do it. Today, I am humbled to take over the Editor-in-Chief’s chair, while Mike Campos becomes the site’s Managing Editor. Samantha Hoffmann and Kristen Wooten will spearhead our AHL & ECHL coverage; and of course, we couldn’t do any of this without our tremendous webmaster, Matt Thomas, plus our deep and versatile team of writers and photographers.

Last but not least, I want to say thank you to my wife, Shaylon, who has been my rock for the last 13 years and sacrificed so much for me. Your love, support, and faith in me have been so much more than I could have ever imagined and I hope I make you proud in this new endeavor.

Enough of the sappy crap. Welcome to the new chapter of The Sin Bin! Chirp hard and troll responsibly. Let’s have some fun, shall we?
