Part 2

While we were looking at Reign roster hopefuls, we decided to take a look 2 hours to the south and see what the San Diego Gulls (and the Anaheim Ducks) were up to.

The Ducks were affiliated with the Norfolk Admirals last season who missed the playoffs. Instead of looking who was on the team at the end of the season, we took a look at who has a current contract with either the Ducks or with the Gulls and then see where the holes are. Free agents have not been included.

Okay, there’s a lot of symbols there. What do they mean?

+ = Played for the Norfolk Admirals last season at some point (We weight them heavier for making the team)

^ = Played in the NHL at some point last season (we assume them to either make the Ducks out of the gate or be favorites for a spot on the team)

* = Eligible for Junior Leagues (probably going there too if they don’t make the NHL)

(G) = Signed directly by the Gulls (90% likely to be on the team)

Right now it is looking like they are fully loaded at every position. Obviously a couple of players might make the Ducks’ lineup out of camp, but with the Ducks lineup pretty full it looks like a few might have to bide their time down in the ECHL waiting for a spot to open.
