CEDAR PARK, TX – The Texas Stars have announced that individual game tickets will go on sale this Monday, August 21, at 10:00 am CDT.
The team also announced fans would have a unique chance to grab discount tickets for October home games during Monday’s solar eclipse. Monday from 11:41 am CST until 2:39 pm CST, the U.S. will experience the first total solar eclipse in 38 years, and during that time the Stars will hold a ticket special and viewing party outside the H-E-B Center box office. Fans will be able to get special glasses to watch the eclipse and be able to participate in street hockey and prize drawings. Fans will be given the exclusive opportunity to grab tickets at 33% off in the Terrace, Executive, Luxury, and Premium sections for all October home games.
With this announcement, fans will be wanting to know what the schedule looks like, and I have all the highlights and promotional nights to plan your outings. The 2017-18 season begins at home on October 6 and 7 against the Chicago Wolves. These will be the first of the six home games in October available at 33 percent off on Monday. Also available will be a weekend set against rival San Antonio on October 20 and 21, and a Pacific Division weekend set against San Diego October 27 and San Jose October 28.
The Stars will play their in-state rival, San Antonio, a total of 14 times this year, beginning with and highlighted by a three-game weekend October 20, 21, and 22. The first two meetings will come at the H-E-B Center; the Stars will follow the Rampage back to San Antonio for the weekend finale. The teams will also close out the 2017-18 campaign against each other with a home and home April 13 in San Antonio, and April 14 in Austin. Last year the Stars were 9-4-0-1 against San Antonio.
Fans will have the chance to see the defending Calder Cup Champions as the Grand Rapids Griffins will make three stops to the H-E-B Center this season. Your first chance to see the Stars battle the Griffins will be November 10 and 11 when Grand Rapids visits for a two game set. You’ll have one more chance at the end of the regular season when Stars welcome the Griffins to town on April 11.
The new season offers several promotional nights throughout the year, including the return of “Winning Wednesdays” for the first seven Wednesday games. If the Stars win on Winning Wednesday, fans in attendance receive a free ticket to the next Wednesday home game.
The family favorite, Coke Family Four-Pack nights are also back and now include all Friday games as well as Saturday giving you 28 chances to take advantage of this attractive package. The four-pack includes four tickets, four hot dogs, and four sodas, and starts at just $16 per person!
H-E-B nights are back as well for all Monday-Thursday games. Fans who bring a non-perishable H-E-B branded item to the game will receive $5 off at the box office.
Some other popular promotional nights include; H-E-B Food Drive Night on October 20, Teddy Bear Toss Night on December 27, and Post game Autograph Night on February 3 all against the Rampage, and then Pucks ‘n Paws Presented by Raising Cane’s on February 24 when the Stars host the Milwaukee Admirals. Fans will also want to be circling their calendar for four major theme nights at the H-E-B Center this year starting with fan favorite, Star Wars Night. In its third straight year, Star Wars Night falls on October 27. Members of the 501st Legion will be there, and there will be special jerseys that will be auctioned post-game with proceeds benefiting the Leander ISD Educational Excellence Foundation.
The Stars will then turn back the clock and return to the 1970s for Saturday Night Fever Night on December 9 when they face the Ontario Reign, and fans of the global mega-series Harry Potter won’t want to miss the game on January 26 when the Stars face the Stockton Heat on Harry Potter night. The final theme night of the year will also be the last game of the regular season when the Stars take on the Rampage on Fan Appreciation Night April 14.
The Stars will play all 76 games against the AHL’s Western Conference in 2017-18, 44 against fellow Pacific Division foes and 32 against the Central Division. Twenty-eight of the Stars’ 38 home games will be played on either a Friday or Saturday. In the remaining ten home games, eight are on Winning Wednesdays, and two are on Tuesdays.
