CEDAR PARK, TX–  The Texas Stars return to the Lone Star State this weekend with a 3-1-0 record after splitting two games last weekend in San Diego.  There will be three games this weekend, all against the rival San Antonio Rampage.  The set will start at the H-E-B Center in Cedar Park Friday and Saturday, before wrapping up Sunday in San Antonio.  Friday’s contest will also be the Stars’ sixth annual H-E-B Food Drive Night.

The H-E-B Food Drive will begin Friday morning at 10 a.m. in the East Lobby of the H-E-B Center in Cedar Park, and will run until the puck drops at 7:30 p.m. Fans can receive a voucher for a free ticket to Friday’s game by bringing in eight or more non-perishable food items, and the fan who makes the largest single donation on Friday will win a Zamboni ride at a future game.  Starting when the gates open at 6:30, food will also be collected at all three entrance gates.

Friday night will be the official Food Drive Night. However, it will not be your only chance to donate this season.  The Stars will collect food throughout the season on all weekday (Monday-Thursday) games.  Fans can bring any non-perishable H-E-B branded items and receive $5 off their ticket.

Last Weekend:  Texas played two games in San Diego last weekend, splitting two games with the division rival San Diego Gulls.  Texas would pick up a 3-1 victory to start the weekend, getting 27 saves from veteran netminder Mike McKenna in the victory.  San Diego would respond on Saturday, using a three goal second period to gain separation in route to a 5-1 Gulls victory.

The Opponent:  The Stars will face their in-state rival San Antonio for the first three of 14 total games against the Rampage this year.  The Stars were 9-4-0-1 against San Antonio in 2016-17.

San Antonio will bring a 2-1-0 record into Friday night’s contest in Cedar Park.  The Rampage defeated the Ontario Reign 2-1 in their only game on opening weekend, before gaining a weekend split in Californina themselves last weekend.  San Antonio fell 5-4 last Thursday at the Bakersfield Condors, then responded with a 3-2 win over the San Jose Barracuda in San Jose.

Schedule and Standings: There will be three different start times for the games this weekend, with 7:30 and 7:00 start times for the two games in Cedar Park, and a 3:00 face-off Sunday afternoon in the Alamo city.
