WICHITA, KS – Thursday afternoon, the ECHL released the first version of rosters for the 2018 ECHL All-Star Classic on Monday, January 15, 2018 in Indianapolis, IN. The roster will likely be amended over the coming days, to account for call-ups, injuries, and other issues.
The lone representative for the Wichita Thunder this year is Shane Starrett.
Starrett has had an outstanding rookie campaign for Wichita. He enters play this week with a 10-2-2 record, a 2.52 goals against average and a .926 save percentage. Those numbers put the Edmonton Oilers product second in wins, third in goals against average and third in save percentage among rookie netminders.
Starrett earned a two-week call-up to the Bakersfield Condors of the American Hockey League while the organization dealt with an injury to Cam Talbot. During that time, Starrett played in one game and stopped 41 of 44 shots in a losing effort.
