HERSHEY, PA – Hockey Canada announced Wednesday the rosters for two pre-Olympic tournaments in Russia. With the NHL sitting the Olympics out, six former Hershey Bears players have earned roster selection for the two tournaments to be played in August.
Longtime Hershey defender Patrick McNeill is on the roster for the first tournament, the 2017 Sochi Hockey Open. He has spent the past two seasons in Germany with Ingolstadt ERC of the DEL registering 67 points in 104 games. McNeill played parts of six seasons with the Bears, collecting a career-high 41 points (10G, 31A) in 71 games during the 2011-12 season.

Goaltender Justin Peters has been selected as one of the two goalies. Peters split 2016-2017 between the Arizona and Dallas organizations. Between Texas and Tuscon, Peters went 18-22 in 43 appearances in the AHL. He is currently a member of Dinamo Riga (KHL).
