READING, Pa. – After going 4-1-1 on their six-game road trip and having the past weekend off, the Reading Royals return to the Santander Arena for a jam-packed weekend of hockey beginning Friday night. In this article, we will break down what’s going on each day this weekend.

Friday 2/16

After being on the road for 23 days, Royals fans can rejoice as the team finally has a home game. In this game, the Royals will host the Cincinnati Cyclones. It will be the second and final regular-season meeting between the Royals and Cyclones with Cincinnati taking the first meeting back in late November by the score of 4-3. This game will kick off a weekend for the ladies as it will be hockey n’ heels night. There will be a masseuse on the concourse giving out massages to fans. Also, the team will be skating on pink ice which is always a fun sight to see.

Saturday 2/17

The night most fans look forward to every year the 11th annual “Pink In The Rink” game as the Royals will be taking on the Brampton Beast. In the previous 10 “Pink In The Rink” games, the Royals are 9-1 with their only loss being to the Brampton Beast two seasons ago. The Royals most memorable event on Pink in the Rink night was back in 2014 when the first goalie fight in Royals history took place as Brandon Anderson went toe-to-toe against Evansville Icemen goalie Mike Clemente. Like the night before, the teams will be skating on pink ice and the Royals will be wearing specialty jerseys.

Sunday 2/18

With the pink ice gone the Royals will wrap up the weekend with an afternoon slate with their longest-tenured rival, the Wheeling Nailers. This will be the final regular-season trip to Reading this season for the Nailers.

However, before the game, the Santander Arena will be hosting the 13th annual Battle of the Badges at 12:30 EST as members from the Reading Police and Fire department will be taking on members from the Allentown Police and Fire department for the second straight year. Last year, Team Reading edged out Team Allentown by the score of 7-6. For anyone looking to attend this game, you can use your Royals ticket as it will get you access to both games.

Alright back to the Royals game, WWE Hall-of-Famer Jerry “The King” Lawler will be attendance for this game. During the game, the Royals will be wearing another specialty jersey. This time, it will be one for the kids as the jerseys will be designed to resemble the Nick Jr show Paw Patrol. After the game, there will be a post-game skate with the players. It will be the final skate of the season and fans must their own skates to participate.

With all this going on in downtown Reading this his weekend it should a fun one for sure. If anyone is interested in bidding one or both of the specialty jerseys they can by visiting BidPal.Net/GoRoyals.
