NEW YORK, NY – Jeff Gorton, New York Rangers General Manager, signed two players for the Hartford Wolf Pack next season. The organization announced the signings of forwards Paul Carey and Cole Schneider on Saturday.
Carey appeared in 55 games with the Hershey Bears during the [email protected] year scoring 24 goals and registering 31 assists. Carey led the Bears in points per game and game-winning goals. He was tied for the team in goals as well as power-play goals. Carey played six games with the Washington Capitals during the regular season, as well as one playoff game.
The 6-foot-1 forward out of Boston, MA has played 287 American Hockey League games throughout his career with the Lake Erie Monsters, Providence Bruins, and Hershey Bears scoring 79 goals and 103 assists for 182 points. He has 32 games in the NHL under his belt with the Colorado Avalanche and the Washington Capitals, registering a goal and an assist.
Cole Schneider appeared in 71 games with the Rochester Americans during the 2016-17 campaign, scoring 24 goals and collecting 39 assists. Schneider was also part of the 2017 AHL All-Star challenge where he scored a goal for the North Division All-Stars.
He appeared in four games for the Buffalo Sabres during the 2016-17 season, where he registered in his first NHL point against the Ottawa Senators back on November 9.
Schneider has played 353 AHL games between the Binghamton Senators and Rochester Americans, compiling 111 goals and 157 assists. In addition, he has logged seven AHL playoff games adding two assists. He has also six NHL games for the Buffalo Sabres making his debut on April 8, 2016.
The Hartford Wolf Pack will have their 2017-18 home opener at the XL Center on Friday night October 6th.
