The Providence Bruins took on the Springfield Falcons at the Dunkin Donuts Center in the second game of a back-to-back between the two teams. Malcolm Subban started in net for the Bruins, opposed by Nicklas Treutle for the Falcons.

The first period started with both teams struggling to find solid footing in the offensive zone. The teams traded early chances, but nothing was too difficult for the goalies. The Bruins were able to kick it into a higher gear and set up in the Falcons end. They were getting chance after chance, but couldn’t find the back of the net. Providence finally broke through when Seth Griffith beat Treutle short side, the goal was assisted by Chris Casto. The Falcons were knocking on the door as the period ended with Subban forced to stand on his head for some saves. First period action ended with the score 1-0 Bruins and the shots 14 to 6 for the Bruins.

The second period saw the Bruins do the exact same thing setting up early in the Falcons zone and started to get chances. The Falcons fought their way out of the early strangled hold that they were put in by the Bruins to get chances of their own. Craig Cunningham put the Falcons down a man when he took a hooking penalty and the Bruins scored on the ensuing power play when Max Talbot an Alexander Khoklachev pass for the goal, Griffith got the secondary assist in the play. Just over minute later the Bruins went back on the power play when former Bruins Corey Potter went off for tripping. Max Talbot scored again on the power play assisted by Ben Youds and Griffith. Springfield got on the board a minute later on a goal from Michael Bunting assisted by Tyler Gaudet and Justin Hache. It didn’t take long for the Bruins to respond as Griffith added his second of the night assisted by Colby Cave and Casto. Colby Cave went off late for the Bruins with a high sticking minor penalty, that would set up a Falcons power play late. But Austin Czarnik stole a breakout pass and took it down and slipped it past Treutle for the shorthanded goal. The second period ended with the Bruins leading the Falcons 5-1, and the shots 30 to 19 Bruins.

The Bruins were firmly in control of the game in the final stanza, adding another power play goal early in the period.  The rest of the third period was back and forth with Subban making the saves that he needed to. Providence was able to hold off the Falcons late pushes in the game and cruised to a 6-1 victory. The Bruins won the game by the score of 6-1 and the final shots 37 to 29 for the Bruins.

Third star Chris Casto, had two assists in the game and played a great game defensively for the Bruins. Second Star Max Talbot, scored two goals the game and what would be the game winner. First star Seth Griffith, scored two goals and two assists in the game for the Bruins and was a major factor into the outcome of the game.
