FORT WAYNE, IN — Fan favorite Trevor Cheek is back in the Jungle, on loan from the Komets’ AHL affiliate, the Tucson Roadrunners.
Cheek’s return was announced by the team on Tuesday and it will the forward’s third stint in Fort Wayne. Cheek, 25, first appeared during the 2015-16 season when he was reassigned from the AHL’s San Antonio Rampage. Cheek scored 17 goals and 25 points in 28 games.
Named ECHL Player of the Week on two occasions, Cheek joined the Komets last November. In 35 games, the Vancouver, Washington native scored 19 goals and 34 points.
In his 16 games this year, Cheek has two goals and seven points. He is fifth-year pro in the AHL and has career totals of 15 goals, 28 assists, and 43 points in 186 games. His ECHL totals consist of 36 goals, 23 assists, 59 points and 118 penalty minutes in 63 games.
Cheek is expected to be in the lineup on Friday when the Komets travel to Cincinnati for a 7:35pm faceoff against the Cyclones.
