JACKSONVILLE, Fla. – On Friday night the Jacksonville Icemen continued their winning streak by securing their fourth consecutive win of the year. They are now currently the only team in the ECHL without a loss this season.
Having played the previous night, the Jacksonville Icemen came out strong and were able to down the Greenville Swamp Rabbits 4-2, outshooting them by 29 to 13.
The puck had barely hit the ice in the opening faceoff before a fight broke out between the Icemen’s Captain Garet Hunt and the Swamp Rabbits’ Travis Howe. A later fight in the game by the Captain would see Garet Hunt break the ECHL all-time record for PIM (2,431).
Rookie goaltender Tanner Jaillet made his ECHL debut after goaltender Mikhail Berdin was reassigned to the AHL Manitoba Moose by the Winnipeg Jets that morning.
