TULSA, OK — The Tulsa Oilers and Head Coach Rob Murray announced today that Charlie Sampair would be his second signing for the 2017-18 season.
Sampair was under Murray’s wing in Alaska last season as a rookie and the native of St. Paul, Minnesota put up decent numbers last season. In 44 games with the Aces, Sampair recorded 13 points on three goals and 10 assists.
Sampair played college hockey in his home state at the University of Minnesota-Duluth where he totaled 14 points (5g, 9a) in 102 college games, including an impressive +21 plus/minus rating as a junior with the Bulldogs in 2014-15.
He joins Eric Drapluk as the second of a reported five players signed to the 2017-18 roster.
The Oilers have indicated that they have five players signed to their 2017-18 roster and they will be disseminating that information in stages over the coming weeks. Fans are currently awaiting announcements of the team’s new affiliate, and a meet-and-greet with Rob Murray.
