It’s the greatest American sports story ever told; a story of young men that were given no chance against a team that was faster, stronger, and more talented. Yet, inside those same young men was something that is unteachable, but instead earned…heart. That heart earned each of them a place in the legend and lore of American history that will be spoken of for centuries to come.
For one young man on the ice that day, it was simply the beginning of an amazing ride into hockey history. A gold medal and four Stanley Cups later, Ken Morrow cemented himself as one of the all-time greats from a team of American heroes.
As we embark on another journey through the Winter Olympics, many will recall that day in 1980 when those young men that were given no chance, gave themselves one. We were asked if we believed in miracles and we agreed that yes, we definitely did.
Ken and I sat down recently to chat about life, the Olympics, and his place in American history. It’s a story that can only be told by someone who was there; on the ice and into history.
While Olympic hockey may look a little bit different this year minus the National Hockey League’s participation, enjoy the games and watch a new generation of potential heroes.
Go Team USA!!!!
