WICHITA, KS – Another young, gritty forward has been added to the Wichita Thunder’s pre-season roster on Tuesday. The team announced 24-year-old Brad Cuzner has been added to the preseason roster.
“Brad is a gritty, rugged, pain in the butt type of player who I am excited about,” commented Head Coach Malcolm Cameron. “He’s relentless on the forecheck, excellent on the penalty kill and is the kind of player that can change the momentum of a hockey game.”
This will be Cuzner’s first professional season, after spending the last four years at St. Francis Xavier University. The 5-foot-10, 183-pound forward appeared in 105 games for the X-Men, collecting 33 points (17g, 16a).
“I’m really excited to join the Thunder this year,” said Cuzner. “I’ve played against a lot of the players we have signed so I am familiar with the guys. Malcolm has told me we are going to be a young, hardworking team that’s very hard to play against and I can’t wait to be a part of it.”
Prior to turning pro, Cuzner played three seasons in the QMJHL with Cape Breton and Halifax. His best season came in 2011-12 when he netted 24 points (12g, 12a) to go along with 61 penalty minutes. He is known as a relentless worker who plays with an edge to his game.
