WINNIPEG, MB – The Manitoba Moose were hosting the Stockton Heat for the first time at MTS Center and they made it a memorable night, shutting out their California opponents 3-0.

Connor Hellebuyck posted his second straight shutout, stopping 23 shots and collecting his fourth shutout of the season. He hasn’t allowed a goal in 121:14 minutes.

The Moose played a solid game despite having numerous AHL rookies in the line up with all the recent call ups to the Winnipeg Jets. Ben Walker was recalled from Tulsa earlier in the day and played solid and picked up an assist.

The Moose were led by defenseman Brenden Kichton, who picked up his eighth and ninth goals of the season. Darren Kramer scored his fifth and now has two goals in his last three games.

The Moose also had big games from Patrice Cormier and captain John Albert who chipped in a pair of helpers each.

Winnipeg native Colton Orr was in the Heat lineup Monday night. The former NHL tough guy, who has had a trying season being a veteran and not seeing much action, got to play in front of a bunch of family and friends in his hometown. He had two shots on goal and collected a 10-minute misconduct with just three seconds to go in the game.

These two teams will square off in a rematch Wednesday night at MTS Centre.
