Tonight begins the first of two back-to-back games for the Tulsa Oilers (27-24-1-3), as they take on the Missouri Mavericks (21-28-3-2) in the Independence Events Center. Tonight marks the eighth meeting between these two teams, in a series that the Mavericks have dominated.
The Oilers come into tonight with a 6-4-0-0 record in their last 10 games, while the Mavs have struggled of late with a 2-7-1-0 record in their last 10. Missouri hopes to use this game to their advantage however, and continue off of their shootout win over Quad City on Sunday.
Missouri leads the season series with a record of 6-1-0-0, outscoring the Oilers with a score of 30-21 over the course of the season.
Jon Booras has led the way for the Oilers against the Mavericks, scoring four goals and five assists in seven games against Missouri. Kevin Carr has been in net for six of the meetings, posting a 1-4-1 record with a 3.36 GAA and a .881 SV%.
On the other side, Sebastien Thinel leads the way for the Mavericks over the Oilers, scoring four goals and eight assists in the previous seven meetings between the teams, while Mike Clemente has posted a 3-0-0 record with a 2.60 GAA and .925 SV%.
Being the only Central Division match-up of the night, the Oilers will look to make up some ground in the tight standings. Rapid City has been charging hard, and they’re currently tied for the 3rd spot, with Wichita right behind them.
Tonight’s puck drops at 7:05 Central time.
