The Missouri Mavericks announced their preseason plans on Monday, release details for two exhibition games, training camp, and the annual Black-Orange scrimmage game.  Here is the release:

“INDEPENDENCE, MO (August 3, 2015) — The Missouri Mavericks announced their 2015 pre-season schedule on Monday morning, unveiling that the ECHL franchise will play two exhibition games in Anchorage, Alaska ahead of their season opener.  The team also released the date of their annual Black-Orange Intra-squad Scrimmage and a tentative training camp schedule.

The Mavs will play a two-game exhibition series against the Alaska Aces at Sullivan Arena on Monday, Oct. 12 and Tuesday, Oct. 13 before they open their 2015-16 campaign with the Aces in three back-to-back matchups Friday, Oct. 16 through Sunday, Oct. 18.  Ticket information will be announced at a later date.  Fans interested in making the trip north with the Mavs can contact our partners at Cruise Planners at mary@hav2cruise.com or 816-796-9400 for a special Mavs travel package!

Missouri will host their annual Black-Orange Intra-Squad Scrimmage and Skills Competition at Independence Events Center on Thursday, Oct. 8.  The South IEC entrance will be open to the public at 5:30p.m. for a 6:00p.m. scrimmage start.  Admission to this event is free with a donation to Community Services League.

The Mavericks 2015 Training Camp will take place at the Kansas City Ice Center (KCIC) Friday, Oct. 2 through Tuesday, Oct. 6 and tentatively run Wednesday, Oct. 7 through Thursday, Oct. 8 at Independence Events Center (IEC).  Fans are welcome to watch all Missouri Mavericks training camp practices.  Additional camp details will be provided at a later date.”

As noted, the two added exhibition games means that the Mavs and Aces will meet a total of five times over a seven day stretch, which could result in some early season fireworks. General Manager Brent Thiessen and Coach Richard Matvichuk have been piecing together their squad for quite some time now, and the Orange Army is clamoring to see their team take the ice for the first time in months. While specific details for training camp and the scrimmage have not been released yet, the team releasing information like this means that hockey season is just around the corner.
