The Missouri Mavericks and South Carolina Stingrays swapped players Thursday.
Headed to Missouri is defenseman Lee Moffie. The 25-year-old defenseman appeared in 42 games for the Stingrays during last season, putting up 26 points and was a plus-10. In 21 Kelly Cup playoff contests last season, Moffie collected five assists and was a plus-four.
Going from Independence to Charleston is David Pacan. Missouri acquired Pacan’s rights earlier this summer in order to complete the Jack Downing trade with the Cincinnati Cyclones. Pacan has played three seasons in the ECHL, and was named to the league’s all-rookie team in 2012-13. In 184 career regular-season games, Pacan has 38 goals and 99 assists (137 points.)
The Mavericks were not done making moves, either. The team announced the signings of Connor and Kellen Jones, who both got heavy playing time last season with the Bakersfield Condors of the ECHL and Oklahoma City Barons of the AHL. The duo combined for a total of 76 points (26G, 50A.)
“Kellen and Connor are two very skilled players who know how to put the puck in the net,” said Richard Matvichuk, Head Coach & Director of Hockey Operations. “Both of these guys have played over forty games at the next level, and we are very excited to get them in Mavericks jerseys.”
