Elmira, NY – The Jackals ended their final road trip of the season on the opposite side of the spectrum, dropping all three games to Adirondack and Manchester.

One of the few bright spots of the weekend was Davis Vandane who’s currently on a three-game point streak. Vandane scored three goals in the last three games, all of them coming on the power play. Rookies Perry D’Arrisso and Anthony Stefano both scored their first professional goals this past weekend.

The team continued to struggle to keep up with Adirondack and Manchester, falling behind early on Friday and Saturday, while on Sunday struggling to keep the early 1 – 0 lead after the first period.

Team Transactions:
On Monday, the team suspended forward Sebastien Sylvestre for an internal matter and he’s expected to be done for the season. Sylvestre played in 64 games this season with the team, scoring 23 goals, 30 assists, with a -35 rating.

The Jackals also signed forward Anthony Stefano to a standard player contract. This is an upgrade for Stefano who signed with the Jackals on March 26th on a tryout deal. In three games, Stefano registered a goal and assist.

This Week’s Games:
As everyone knows this weekend is the final games in Jackals existence as the Elmira Jackals will be hosting the Adirondack Thunder on Friday and Saturday at the First Arena.

The Thunder come into town atop the ECHL North Division with a three-point lead over the second place Brampton Beast and could clinch the division this weekend. Adirondack comes into the weekend on a hot streak, going 8-0-1-0 in their last nine games.

A few Thunder players are coming off award-winning months. Goalie J.P. Anderson just earned the ECHL Goaltender of the Month in March, going 6-0-1, 2.44 goals against average and .927 save percentage. Forward Brian Ward won the ECHL Rookie of the Month scoring eight goals and nine assists in eleven games. Ward was also named the Thermal Associates Player of the Week for the week of March 26th – April 1st.
