INDIANAPOLIS, IN — The ECHL announced Tuesday that Indy Fuel goaltender Jake Hildebrand has been named the CCM/ECHL goaltender of the week for Oct. 14-16.
In his first games with the Fuel, Hildebrand picked up two wins over the Cincinnati Cyclones during last weekend’s home-and-home series. The 23-year-old posting a 1.00 goals against average and a .966 save percentage. While stopping 56 of 58 shots from the Cyclones.
Hildebrand comes to Indy under a Rockford IceHogs AHL contract. Prior to his time with Indy, he spent the end of last season with the Allen Americans, building a 5-1-0-0 record while helping the team to a Kelly Cup Championship.
The nomination is well deserved for Hildebrand. During Friday night’s home opener, the Cyclones peppered him with shots in the second and third periods but the native of Butler, PA shut them out for the remainder of the game. During the second period of Friday’s game, Hildebrand made an incredible save on a Cyclones 3-on-0.
