BRAMPTON, ONT. – The Brampton Beast announced Wednesday that 2015-16 Beast fan favorite Luc-Olivier Blain has signed a contract to remain a member of the Brampton Beast for the upcoming season.

Blain, 26, appeared in 66 games as a rookie in the ECHL last season and was one of the Beast’s most consistent competitors. He lit the lamp 10 times and added another 22 helpers for 32 points in 66 games played.

Throughout the 2015-16 season, nobody was more dependable than Blain. His 66 games played were the most recorded by a Beast skater last season. His 32 points was good for fourth place in team scoring and he was one of just six players to record 10 or more goals.

“It was an easy decision for me,” Blain said of re-signing with the Beast. “It’s close to home. (Brampton) is a great city. I love the fans. I love the rink. I love the staff. I love the coaches. I love my teammates. The only thing I told (Beast Head Coach Colin Chaulk) is that I want to win this year.”

Prior to joining the Beast, Blain dominated the France2 professional league with Angers for two seasons (2013-14 and 2014-15) and amassed impressive point totals, including a total of 33 goals and 59 assists for 92 points in just 49 games played.

Beast Head Coach Colin Chaulk is excited to have a player as versatile as Blain back in the mix for another season.

“Luc Blain is someone who can be your number one centre or your third line centre,” Chaulk said. “He’s one of those guys who is willing to do anything for the team. He’s an excellent two-way player who plays the right way.”

The Beast roster for next season sits at twelve players, more players yet to be announced. If you’ve missed it, here is a breakdown of the players announced by position so far:
