ESTERO, Fla. – Four Florida Everblades scored during a 4-1 win against the Atlanta Gladiators in Game 1 of the South Division First Round at Germain Arena Monday night. The ‘Blades took the lead in the best-of-7 series 1-0. Game 2 is here tonight.

Martin Ouellette made 20 saves, while Mitchell Heard and Michael Kirkpatrick both tallied a goal and two assists.

Brett Bulmer broke the scoreless tie at the 7:35 into the second period before Atlanta responded when Alex Rauter found a way past Ouellette.

The ‘Blades took control in the third period when Heard, John McCarron, and Kirkpatrick scored three straight goals for a 4-1 lead.

Goaltender Dan Vladar made 45 saves for the Gladiators, keeping Atlanta within reaching distance for most of the battle.
