For the fourth week in a row, the Florida Everblades occupy the top spot in this week’s ECHL Power Rankings. The Everblades are on a 12-game point streak and have stretched out their lead in the South Division to seven points over the South Carolina Stingrays, but the two teams will play each other three times this weekend.
In the number two position this week are the defending Kelly Cup Champion, Colorado Eagles, who are also on a 12-game point streak and have surged to the top of the Mountain Division. During the streak, the Eagles have scored four or more goals six times, including in three consecutive games. The Eagles have been playing tighter defense, too, only allowing 30 goals during the stretch (an average of 2.5 goals per game.)
Wichita slides down to three, Manchester moves up to four, while South Carolina continues to hold down the fifth position.
At the bottom of the standings, our writers have the Utah Grizzlies in the bottom five for the second week in a row, joined by mainstays Norfolk, Rapid City, and Jacksonville.
At the conclusion of play each weekend, our writing team will rank all 27 ECHL teams, and the average of those rankings makes up the “Composite” ranking. Unlike rankings we have done in the past, you will now get to see how every ECHL writer voted. The rankings will debut every Tuesday afternoon right here at The Sin Bin. Our previous rankings are at the bottom of the page.
