ALLEN, TX – The Allen Americans have signed forward Jarod Palmer and he will be in the line up against Wichita tonight.
Palmer has not played professional hockey since the 2012-2013 season when he retired because of injuries. Jarod played college hockey at Miami University (Ohio) and was a teammate of Gary Steffes. Palmer signed a free agent NHL contract with the Minnesota Wild in April, 2010.
In his three years as professional, Palmer played in 117 games for the Houston Aeros (AHL) and had 47 points (16 goals 31 assists) and six games with the Minnesota Wild where he had one goal.
Palmer is currently the head coach of the Sugar Land (Houston area) Imperials who play in the NA3HL which is a Tier III junior league.
Would assume this is a short term solution until injured players return but you never know what is in store in situations like this. Palmer’s junior team is on a break and will not play again until January 16th.

Here are two videos you might find interesting. The first is when Palmer was in college and voted the best stick handler in the CCHA and the second is Jarod’s one and only NHL goal.
