Colorado Eagles: Tape To Tape Podcast – Episode #6

So. Many. Transactions.

With the 2020 NHL Entry Draft and free agency period occurring in the same week, C.C. Hawkley and Scott MacDonald had some catching up to do on their recent episode of the Colorado Eagles: Tape To Tape Podcast!

FIRST THINGS FIRST…

On Tuesday, October 6, the Colorado Avalanche selected defenseman Justin Barron with the 25th overall pick in the NHL Entry Draft. C.C. and Scott broke down the positives of the pick, and if Eagles Country could expect the blue liner in Loveland sooner than later

EAGLES NEWS & NOTES

As mentioned earlier, there are SO many transactions to get to! Here’s a rundown of what the boys covered and (of course) how it will affect the Eagles next season…

  • 09/18/20 – Avalanche re-signed (RW) Logan O’Connor to a two-year, two-way NHL contract
  • 10/09/20 – Avalanche signed (C) Michael Vecchione to a one-year, two-way NHL contract
  • 10/09/20 – Avalanche signed (F) Kiefer Sherwood to a one-year, two-way NHL contract
  • 10/09/20 – Avalanche signed (RW) Miika Salomaki to a one-year, two-way NHL contract
  • 10/09/20 – Avalanche re-signed (C) Sheldon Dries to a one-year, two-way NHL contract
  • 10/10/20 – Avalanche acquired (D) Dennis Gilbert from the Blackhawks
  • 10/10/20 – Avalanche signed (RW) Jayson Megna to a one-year, two-way NHL contract
  • 10/11/20 – Avalanche acquired (D) Kyle Burroughs from the New York Islanders

With Matt Nieto signing with the San Jose Sharks, does that finally open the door for Logan O’Connor to stay put with the Avalanche?

Former Eagles captain Mark Alt has signed a contract with the Los Angeles Kings. Also, where do all these acquisitions put long-time Eagles forward Michael Joly?
