Today, The Sin Bin is proud to announce a huge addition to our 2017 ECHL Trade Deadline Coverage. Former Quad City Mallards (ECHL), Rio Grande Valley Killer Bees (CHL) and Laredo Bucks (CHL) head coach Terry Ruskowski will join Matthew Harding and Bobby Metcalf from the Quad City Times, as we take fans through the deadline on Thursday, March 9, 2017.

“It’s a privilege to be working with the team from The Sin Bin,” Ruskowski said. “It’s exciting for me to work on the other side of the bench instead of on the bench for this trade deadline. This is something that I would like to do more of and I’m grateful they have given me the opportunity to work with them, it’s much appreciated. I hope I can give the fans some insight inside on what goes on at this time of year.”

Ruskowski played in the WHA & NHL for 15 seasons, scoring 196 goals, 567 assists and collecting more than 2,100 penalty minutes in 999 regular season games. In addition, he is the only player in National Hockey League history to serve as Captain for four separate franchises.

After his playing days were over, he moved behind the bench, where he won two championships in the Central Hockey League. During his eight-year run with the Laredo Bucks, Ruskowski piloted the team to four straight league finals appearances between 2004 and 2007, including two championships in 2004 and 2006. Most recently, the 62-year-old Ruskowski led the Quad City Mallards to the league playoffs in each of his four-plus seasons and compiled a 171-126-33 record in 330 regular season games for the club.

“We could not be more thrilled to have Terry Ruskowski join us for our ECHL Trade Deadline coverage,” said Joe Rozycki, owner & editor-in-chief of The Sin Bin. “He is a legend of the game and is someone that we hold in the highest regard. He will provide a wealth of knowledge from his many years playing and coaching professional hockey. We look forward to his insights surrounding the Trade Deadline, what goes on behind the scenes, and how teams strategize during what is an incredibly important and crucial time for every organization.”

The addition of Ruskowski will bolster an already strong content lineup for the site. Starting today, our 2017 ECHL Trade Tracker will be live with all of the trades in the league since January 26. On Saturday, March 4, we will run a feature story with Ruskowski about his trade deadline memories from a player & coaching perspective. From March 5-8, we will have daily divisional previews of each team’s needs heading into the deadline.

Here is the schedule:

Monday 3/6 – Central Division
