2019-20 Quad City Storm Season Preview

MOLINE, Ill. -- The Quad City Storm will open their sophomore season on October 19, once more taking on the Peoria Rivermen. However, there’s a lot more to the Storm’s upcoming season than merely rehashing the same match-up 13 times, so let’s dive right in.

MOLINE, Ill. -- The Quad City Storm saved some history for their sophomore season, as on Monday they announced the addition of an assistant coach to their hockey operations staff. Jake Toporowski, son of famed Quad City Mallards enforcer Kerry Toporowski, has been named as the Storm’s assistant coach under head coach Dave Pszenyczny.

Road trips are already being planned, as the SPHL recently released the 2019-20 season. With fewer games against their closest rivals, the Quad City Storm will spend more time on the road seeing more distant foes.

The Quad City Storm are building their roster for the upcoming season, and so far three familiar names have returned for more Storm hockey. One player from last year's squad has inked a deal with a team in a different league, however.

Quad Cities Showcase Hockey on the International Stage

For many people outside of the area, the Quad Cities is a bit of an enigma. One city, Moline, home to the Quad City Storm, is also home to the international headquarters of John Deere. Across the Mighty Mississippi, Bettendorf, Iowa, is home to the headquarters for the National Dekhockey Association 3 vs 3 (NDA).
