GLENS FALLS, N.Y. - The Adirondack Thunder and Manchester Monarchs faced off in game two of the North Division semifinal Saturday night. The Thunder were looking to tie up the series at home, while the Monarchs wanted to take a 2-0 series lead before the series shifts to their home ice.
After splitting the regular season series with six victories each, and ending the season with only one point separating them in the standings, the Thunder and Monarchs were expected to have a relatively even playoff series as well.
Of the four seasons the two teams have been in the ECHL, they have now faced off in the playoffs in all four, three times in the first round and once in the North Division final.
