MACON, Ga. – The Macon Mayhem opened up a three-game homestand on Thursday, February 28, against the Birmingham Bulls. The hard-fought game got away from the Mayhem. Birmingham was able to leave the Macon with a 3-1 win.
Fayetteville arrived in Macon on Friday for the remaining two games. There were plenty of fireworks throughout the game ending with a big, bench-clearing finale. Macon won the heated contest 4-3. Be sure to check out the photos of the incident.
A couple of players from both teams had to sit out of the Saturday game because of their actions the previous night. Most notably, Fayetteville’s netminder Dillon Kelley. The Mayhem took advantage of the backup goaltender with a decisive 5-1 win.
The biggest hit of the weekend was Macon’s rookie forward Josh Koepplinger. He racked up an amazing five goals and three assists in his first three games, claiming SPHL Player of the Week honors.
This week, Bryan’s wife Ivy Meeks joined him to capture the action.
