ESTERO, FL– The Florida Everblades claimed two wins against the Jacksonville Icemen this past weekend to remain on top of the league’s leaderboard with a 13-2-0-1 record. The two-game series saw a combined 48 penalties minutes between both teams.
On Friday, a team effort captured the 6-3 win over the Icemen. Mitchell Heard, Josiah Didier, Justin Kea, Michael Kirkpatrick, John McCarron and Nolan LaPorte all were able to light the lamp against Icemen goaltender Jamie Phillips at the Veterans Memorial Arena.
Alexandre Goulet, Cameron Critchlow and Jan Kostalek each found ways to strike against ‘Blades netminder Callum Booth who faced a total of 16 shots on net.
The ‘Blades hosted the Icemen at Germain Arena for the first time in the organization’s history Saturday night dawned in jerseys for Marvel Super Hero Night. The ‘Blades work Hulk jerseys for the battle where they overtook the Icemen wearing Thor jerseys for the smashing 3-1 win.
Logan Roe, Joe Cox and Kea scored for the ‘Blades while Ryan Graham found the lone goal of the battle for the Icemen.
The Everblades traveled to Norfolk for a pre-Thanksgiving contest and in a spirited affair, the ‘Blades won in come-from-behind fashion, beating Norfolk 4-3. Florida lit the lamp three times in an eight-minute span during the final period.
The ‘Blades will continue their road-trip with two more games in the Tidewater this weekend against the Norfolk Admirals, before heading to Greenville to play the Swamp Rabbits next Thursday.
