BELLEVILLE, ON – Hockey fans in the City of Belleville and the surrounding communities will get a chance next Saturday, August 12 at the Quinte Mall to see the unveiling of the new Belleville Senators home and away uniforms.
The event will begin at 11:00 a.m. There will be an address from the Belleville Senators with the uniform unveiling, panel discussion along with an open question period.
On the panel will be:
Rob Mullowney- Chief Operating Officer, Belleville Senators
Randy Lee– General Manger, Belleville Senators, Assistant General Manager, Ottawa Senators
Kurt Kleinendorst– Head Coach, Belleville Senators
Shean Donovan– Ottawa Senators Player Development Coach, Former NHL player
Ben Sexton– Center, Ottawa Senators/Belleville Senators
Daniel Taylor– Goalie, Ottawa Senators/Belleville Senators
Ben Sexton and Daniel Taylor will be on hand to sign autographs.
Sexton will be entering his fifth year of professional hockey. He appeared in 54 games with the Albany Devils during the 2016-17 campaign scoring 19 goals and dishing 12 assists for 31 points. Sexton skated in four games during the 2017 AHL Calder Cup playoffs registering two assists. He skated for three years for the Providence Bruins appearing in 73 games scoring eight goals and 11 assists for 19 points and appeared in six Calder Cup Playoff games for the Bruins. Sexton played for four seasons at Clarkson University in the NCAA ECAC Conference from 2010-14.
The Ottawa Senators mascot Spartacat will be at the event. The event will be held at Kindness Court in the mall.
The Belleville Senators relocated from Binghamton, NY after playing 15 years in the city. Belleville is about two and half hours away from their National Hockey League affiliation, the Ottawa Senators, depending on where you are coming from the city.
The Senators will kickoff their inaugural campaign on Friday, October 6 against the Laval Rocket at Place Bell while the home opener will be held for the Senators on Wednesday, November 1st against the Syracuse Crunch at Yardmen Arena.
