As hockey season is fast approaching, training camps are closer than they appear. The Cincinnati Cyclones’ AHL affiliate, the Milwaukee Admirals open camp Tuesday afternoon, while the Cyclones are scheduled to do the same on Friday afternoon.

The 2015 Training Camp Roster in Cincinnati currently sits at 20 players. In case you’ve been living under a rock this past summer, those 20 include:

Goalies: Neil Conway

Defense: Cody Carlson, Kevin Lind, Ryan Misiak (R), Mike Ratchuk (V), Steven Weinstein (R), Riley Weselowski (V), & Brett Wysopal

Forward: Zach Budish, Jack Downing (V), Branden Gracel, Nick Huard (R), Bobby Hughes (V), Christiaan Minella, Adam Payerl, Garrick Perry (R), Peter Sakaris, Ben Schmidt (R), Joe Wilson (R), & Andrew Yogan

**Note: (V) =  Veteran, (R) = Rookie**

Although the core is pretty much set, one question has yet to be answered. That question would be “just how many players will be sent down from Milwaukee?” The way I’m currently seeing it is, it could very well be the same players that were sent down last season with a couple new additions. Jaynen Rissling, Frederick Gaudreau, Joe Pendenza, Mikko Vainonen (Pending on if he gets reassigned overseas again) are all possible assignments to Cincinnati.

A couple you should keep your eye on as you could possibly see Forward Eric Robinson and Defenseman Trevor Murphy in Cincinnati this season. Also can’t forget about Goaltender Brandon Whitney, who is already guaranteed to serve as Neil Conway’s back-up for the Cyclones this season.

Three Cyclones players have been invited to Milwaukee’s Camp. Those three are Mike Ratchuk, Adam Payerl, and Andrew Yogan. For the full Milwaukee Admirals training camp roster, click here. Also worth mentioning Neil Conway was invited to the Grand Rapids Griffins training camp. Keep in mind, these are just invites/try-outs. These players will likely be sent back to Cincinnati when the Cyclones camp gets underway this weekend.

Critical Dates to Start the Season:
October 1st: Full Training Camp Rosters are due to the ECHL by 3pm EST
October 2nd: First Day of On-Ice sessions
October 14th: Opening Day Rosters are due by 3pm EST (Regardless of how many players Milwaukee sends down, the Opening Day Roster can only consist of a maximum 21 players)
Then on October 16th, it’s off to the races and the ECHL Regular Season gets underway.

Expect all training camp details (dates, time, etc) to be released by the Cyclones in the coming days.

    • Susan – Going off a recent conversation I had with Assistant Coach, Cam Keith. I believe a couple sessions, will in fact, be open to the Public.
