LAVAL, QC – The Laval Rocket will be joining the American Hockey League for the 2017-18 season after relocating from St. John’s, Newfoundland. The team’s home games are at Place Bell, a new 10-thousand seat arena.
The Rocket will open up by hosting another “old franchise in a new location,” the Belleville Senators, for back-to-back games on Friday and Saturday, October 6 and 7. The following weekend, the Binghamton Senators come to Laval for a pair of games on Friday and Saturday, October 13 and 14.
They will meet the Toronto Marlies at Ricoh Coliseum for the first time on Saturday, October 28 for a 4:00 pm drop of the puck. The Marlies will then visit the Rocket at Place Bell on Wednesday, November 1. The Rocket will close out the 2017-18 year with a home-and-home series against the Toronto Marlies on Friday and Saturday, April 13 and 14.
The Rocket’s longest home stand will come at the start of the season, running from Friday, October 6 through Saturday, October 14.
The longest road trips of the year will come from February 3-10 when they travel to Toronto then through New York where they will play Binghamton, Utica, and Syracuse. A second trip will run from March 25-31, when they travel to Belleville, Toronto, Binghamton, and Hershey.

The Rocket will play 72 games in the AHL Eastern Conference between the North and Atlantic Division. They will play four games in the AHL Western Conference Central Division against the Manitoba Moose where they will split the season series with two at home and two on the road.
