READING, PA – Just two and a half weeks after it was announced Larry Courville would be leaving after the season, the Royals announced President Drew Bell will leave the team effective immediately.
Bell has served as the team’s President since April 2014.
“We want to express our sincere thanks to Drew for his time, service and effort with the Royals over the past three seasons. We wish him the best in his future endeavors,” said Royals owner Jack Gulati.
Under Bell, the Royals became the ECHL affiliate for the Philadelphia Flyers and he oversaw the renovations to Santander Arena. Reading Eagle reporter Jason Guarente reports Bell is leaving the job to spend more time with his family.
In the Royals release, they said an interim general manager this coming Monday, and the search for a new president begins immediately.
