EVANSVILLE, IN – Mike Hall owned the Evansville Thunderbolts for less than a year.

In that time, Hall and Jeff Pyle worked hard to bring SPHL hockey to market that was abandoned by the Evansville IceMen in a very public and bitter lease battle.

This morning, the Thunderbolts announced Hall has been bought out of his ownership share of the team and a subsidiary company of VenueWorks, VW Sports, will now has control of the team.

“Mike was integral in the leadership of the Thunderbolts through our first season in Evansville,” said Steve Peters, President of VenuWorks said in a statement this morning. “We are very appreciative of his hard work and dedication. The foundation he developed will allow us to take this organization to the next level.”

“Early last year, Mike Hall and VenuWorks made a commitment to the City to keep professional hockey in Evansville following the Icemen’s departure,” stated Mayor Lloyd Winnecke. “The City would like to thank Mr. Hall for his part in this endeavor and looks forward to the success of professional hockey in Evansville.”

Currently, Hall serves as President of the organization and it is not anticipated that any changes will be made to the leadership structure.
