BRIDGEPORT, CT – The Bridgeport Sound Tigers will return for their 16th year in the American Hockey League for the 2017-18 season.
“We worked diligently to provide a winning combination of dates for our team and fans, and I am thrilled that more than 80-percent of our home games are on the weekend yet again,” President Michael Picker said in a news release. “There’s a lot to look forward to including a look at some new opponents, not to mention our promotions and theme-night activities continue to grow every year.”
Major Schedule Highlights
Bridgeport will kick off the 2017-18 season with four games on the road, starting on Saturday, October 7 against the Binghamton Devils. From there, they will play back-to-back games against the Charlotte Checkers on Friday, October 13 and Saturday, October 14. Their opening road trip will end against the Lehigh Valley Phantoms on Friday, October 20.
Their home-opener will be held at Webster Bank Arena against the Laval Rocket on Saturday, October 21.
They will host their in-state rival, Hartford Wolf Pack, on Sunday, October 22 with a trip to Hartford on Friday, October 27.
They will play two school-day games on Wednesday, November 8 against the Lehigh Valley Phantoms and on Tuesday, April 3 against the Providence Bruins with both games starting at 10:30 a.m.
The Pink in the Rink event will be Saturday, February 10 against the Providence Bruins.
Pucks and Paws returns on Sunday, March 11 against the Syracuse Crunch presented by VCA Animal Hospital. Fans are allowed to bring their dogs to the game while local animal rescue organizations will have adoptable pets on hand.
The final home game of the year will be held on Sunday, April 15 against the Charlotte Checkers and is also First Responders Night.
The longest home stand will be three games from November 18-24 against Charlotte, Springfield and Hartford and January 20-24 against Providence, Toronto, and Springfield.
